The Craigavon Cowboys Youth team delivered an unforgettable performance on Saturday, September 20th at the National Sports Campus in Dublin, storming to two emphatic victories while showing dominance on both sides of the ball.
Game 1: Cowboys 46–0 Vipers From the first snap, the Cowboys set the tone. Kori McKinley scoring with a rushing touchdown, and the floodgates followed. Nathan McGuinness powered through with both rushing and receiving scores, while Conor Traynor added multiple rushing touchdowns and a two-point conversion. The defense was equally ruthless, allowing zero first downs. Standout performances included Sean Quinn’s interception and receiving TD, Kori's fumble recovery, Niko Szturo’s fumble recovery and 4 tackles for loss, and Michael Conway’s tackling clinic. Contributions across the field kept the scoreboard ticking, capped off by Max Beattie’s receiving touchdown. Game 2: Cowboys 22–0 Rebels The second game started tight against a very strong and well drilled rebels team, going into halftime at 0–0, but the Cowboys came out firing in the second half. Kori McKinley and Nathan McGuinness found the endzone through the air and on the ground, with Sean Quinn adding a crucial two-point conversion and another interception to his name. On defense, the Rebels were shut down repeatedly. Seanán Donnelly-Maguire (5 tackles), Caolan McAleavey (3 tackles), Nathan McGuinness (6 tackles), and Kori McKinley (6 tackles) made sure the opposition never found their rhythm. A Statement Performance Across both games, the Cowboys showed why they’re a force to be reckoned with! With an explosive offense, relentless defense, and teamwork that never wavered. Two wins, 68 points scored, 0 points conceded, making it a perfect day in Dublin. The future is bright for this youth squad, and the Cowboys are only getting started.
