Unbeaten and Unstoppable: Cowboys Youth Team Complete the Perfect Regular Season

Sunday 5th October at the National Sports Campus, Dublin wasn’t just another day on the schedule, it was the final test of focus, pride, and consistency for a team that’s been on a mission since Week 1.

We arrived at the Campus sitting 4–0. The Mavericks’ forfeit pushed us to 5–0 before the first whistle, but nobody in the changing room was thinking about records or easy wins. This group had one goal: to prove that the perfect season was no accident.

From the first snap, the intent was clear. The defense came out firing. Fast, physical, and fearless. Nathan McGuinness, Niko Szturo, and Seanán Donnelly-Maguire each tore through the opposition’s line for crucial sacks, setting the tone and reminding everyone why our defense has been the toughest in the league. Sean Quinn sealed the effort with a clutch interception.

On offense, the rhythm that’s defined our season continued to flow. Conor Traynor powered through for a rushing touchdown, and James Bell added a composed two-point conversion. McGuinness then doubled his impact with another rushing TD to stretch the lead and close out a controlled, professional 14–6 win.

It wasn’t about the scoreline though, it was about the statement. Even with the playoffs already secured, the team refused to ease off. Focus, effort, and discipline carried us through every down, proving that the hunger to win runs deep in this squad.

Over six regular-season games, we’ve scored 152 points and conceded only 12. Those numbers speak for themselves, a team that dominates on both sides of the ball, built on trust, preparation, and belief.

Now, with the top seed locked in, attention turns to the Semi-Final showdown with the Dublin Rebels. The challenge will be fierce, but so are we. The mission remains the same: finish what we started and bring it home.
