Flag Football

Flag football is a non-contact version of American Football, with similarities to tag rugby where tackles are made by ‘flagging’ players. Flag football takes away the aggression and big hits and focuses more on the skill set of a player. The Cowboys won Emerald Bowl II (All-Ireland Championship) in 2016, Emerald Bowl V in 2018 and Emerald Bowl VII in 2021 alongside the Cowboys B Team winning the 2019 Glas Bowl. The team travels to various international competitions such as the Champions Bowl (Copenhagen 2016, Vienna 2017 and Salou 2018) and Flagging New Year (Glasgow 2018, 2019 and 2020) to compete against the best club teams in Europe. This is an excellent way to learn the techniques of the sport, as well as having great fun!

Key Information:

• You must be at least 15 years of age to train and at least 16 years of age to play league games.
• Mixed gender sport - sport for all!
• You only need to bring boots, a gumshield  and water - we will lend you all other equipment needed! Weather appropriate sports clothing is advised.
• No experience required! We have plenty of experienced coaches to take you through the basics and allow you to develop.
