The Cowboys advance to the 2019 IAFL 1 Bowl courtesy of a 27-19 win over fourth seeds Trinity College Dublin in the IAFL 1 playoffs. This is the third year in a row that the Cowboys have reached the Bowl game, but will be hoping for success this time having tasted defeat the past two times. Prior to the game kicking off, Armagh Banbridge & Craigavon Council Lord Mayor Mealla Campbell conducted the coin toss as our special guest. We would like to thank the Lord Mayor for attending the game and supporting the club. We would also like to thank our game sponsor Blue Timber Frames. It was a difficult day with the sweltering heat, with temperatures well over 20C. The 'Boys found themselves 19-14 down at half time, with #7 Peter Loughran scoring both touchdowns on the ground and #26 Stephen Brennan kicking 2 PATs. However the team stepped up a gear in the second half, scoring two touchdowns on the ground, one from #7 Peter Loughran and one from #22 Jo Buchanan, with #26 Stephen Brennan converting 1/2 PATs. Unfortunately the game was called at the end of the third quarter as Trinity's already stretched squad was depleted further with injuries. The Cowboys will travel to Navan RFC on Sunday 28th July to take on the Westmeath Minotaurs for the IAFL 1 Bowl. Kick-off is scheduled for 2pm.
