Ahead of our second Rookie Roadshow in Banbridge this week, we caught up with WR Peter Lundy to get his views on being a Cowboys Rookie...

Alright Peter, this is the end of your time as a Cowboys Rookie, did you enjoy it?

Yea I loved every second of it. Especially helping the guys win the IAFL 1 bowl even if I couldn’t play the final being injured. Just being part of the team was great.

You tried out last year and impressed the coaches in your combine stats. What do you think made you stand out?

I think when you set a record in one of the combine events helps you stand out to the coaches.

I know Peter you actually played another sport at a high level before coming to the Cowboys, do you think this helped you transition into football easier?

Yea I think having played a sport at a international level definitely helped and gave me an eager competitive spirit.

As well as kitted football, both you and Neill have been playing flag this year. Did you know before joining the ‘Boys that there was an alternative to kitted football?

I didn't know there was an alternative to kitted. But I'm glad I gave flag a go. It helps keep you sharp in the off season and it's just good fun.

Lastly, anything you would like to say to anyone considering coming down and giving football a go with the Cowboys?

Come down give it a go you won't regret it. All the boys are so welcoming and they all have the same goal in mind to improve the club and no matter your skill level they will help you feel part of the club and get you up to speed quickly
Our second Rookie Roadshow is in Havelock Park, Banbridge this week from 12pm to 2pm. If you want to find out more info about the day or our other Roadshow, check out our Rookie Roadshow post or message us on Facebook or via our website.
