Senior Team Coaching Staff 2018

With the IAFL 1 regular season fast approaching, we are pleased to announce our coaching staff for our 2018 senior team.

Head Coach: Greg Loughran

​Greg is a well-known figure in the IAFA having been involved with the sport in Ireland since the leagues official inception in 1986. His wealth of experience and knowledge has been, and continues to be, a huge benefit to the Cowboys. This will be Greg’s 11th year in a row as head coach of the Cowboys senior team.

Offensive Co-Ordinator: Christian Cowan
Offensive Assistant Coaches: Peter Loughran, Jonny Doyle-Martin

Christian has been with the Cowboys from an early age and has recently returned home from studying overseas. Whilst young in age, he has gained great knowledge from playing in England and Sweden, and hopes to build on the offenses success from 2017. Peter and Jonny will assist Christian, having 11 years of Irish American football experience between them. 

​Defensive Co-Ordinator: Mark Beattie
Defensive Assistant Coaches: Jakub Kowalczyk, Ivan Chapman

​Mark steps up to co-ordinator job having been an assistant coach last year. Whilst an O-Lineman during his playing days, Mark has been keen to try his hand at coaching defense, and plans to continue to uphold the Cowboys defense reputation as a hard hitting unit. Jakub and Ivan will assist, with Jakub having experience from playing in Poland as well as Ireland, and Ivan previously playing for the Cowboys in the 80s and 90s.

Special Teams: Gareth McShane, Jo Buchanan

​Gareth and Jo will look after special teams this year, with 7 years of Irish American football experience between them.
