One day to go to the big game! We spoke with QB Anton Nulty on his 2nd cap for TI u20s and his time at the Cowboys so far. This is your second year playing with Team Ireland u20's, is it great to get back playing with the islands best young players? “The skill level that is brought to these training sessions is immense, the future of Irish American football certainly looks bright. It’s an amazing opportunity to play on a squad of this skill level.” Last year will have given you a glimpse of what to expect this year, are you looking forward to the challenge the USA AFW Elite team will give? “I expect they will give us a really tough physical game just as last year, but of course I’m looking forward to the game, any challenge of this magnitude is a great test and can only make me a better player.” You progressed into the senior ranks at the Cowboys last season, making a big impression at wide receiver, how big a jump was it to playing senior football? “Physically it was massive jump, playing against men much bigger than I am, however it didn’t deter me and I just went out and enjoyed myself and happened to score a few.” How has the training and preparation been for the game on Saturday? “The training has been intense, learning a new playbook in the amount of time we had can be difficult but I feel the lads have really pulled together as a squad and I am confident in our ability." You have just completed your first full preseason as a senior player at Cowboys, how has it been for you so far? “Having joined the team late last year due to age restrictions I had to really jump into the thick of it, whereas this year having known I would be able to play from the start I have been much more comfortable and has allowed me to master the system we play."
